SIM-ONE Divisions' 2022 Junior Faculty Consortium
"How SIM-ONE scholarship can contribute to the creation of a better world"

The SIM-ONE Junior Faculty Consortium is an annual event that provides an opportunity for early-career faculty members and postdocs who are members of the Social Issues in Management (SIM) and/or Organizations and the Natural Environment (ONE) divisions to network with senior faculty members, learn and develop their research ideas. We are happy to announce that this year, our event will be held hybrid so that everyone can participate, face-to-face in Seattle or virtually!

We would like to invite applicants to register for the hybrid SIM-ONE Junior Faculty Consortium.  The event will take place on Friday, August 5th, 2022, from 8 am to 12 pm (Seattle time). Save the date!

Under the subject "How SIM-ONE scholarship can contribute to the creation of a better world", and echoing the annual meeting theme "Creating a better world together", the consortium will delve into a discussion of our potential for contributing to meaningful and impactful research amid grand societal challenges that evolve at an unpredicted pace and scale, such as COVID-19, social unrest, and climate change.

The following esteemed senior faculty members have agreed to participate in the virtual SIM-ONE Junior Faculty Consortium:

    • You must be in the first five years of your employment as a faculty member or a postdoctoral position.
    • Your application must include a short CV and an extended abstract of a working paper (not more than 5 pages). Please also indicate two preferred senior scholars you would like to discuss your research with. We will do our best to respect your choices.
    • Please send your application to Susana Esper (s.esper@ieseg.fr), with copy to Amanda Williams (amanda.williams@imd.org) by May 23rd, 2022.
    • We have a capacity for 30 participants. We will inform all applicants about the outcome of their application by June 15th, 2022.
    • Please note that the SIM and ONE divisions have generously agreed to sponsor the registration fee of some SIM or ONE members facing financial restrictions at their home institution as a result of the pandemic. Indicate in your application if you will request a registration fee waiver (first arrived, first served!).

The organizers for this year's consortium are Susana Esper (SIM), Jason Pattit (SIM), Amanda Williams (ONE), and Ju Young Lee (ONE).

The lead sponsor this year is the SIM Division. Please email any questions and comments to Susana Esper at s.esper@ieseg.fr (cc: Jason Pattit, jmpattit@stthomas.edu).

We look forward to meeting you in Seattle (both face-to-face and virtually)!
