    Dear colleagues,

    See the below position announcement. Our Lecturers can apply to become a Continuing Lecturer (which is similar to getting tenure). They teach approximately five courses/year. For someone who loves teaching, it is a really good position.

     

    Sustainability and Financial Management, Lecturer

    The School of Environment, Enterprise and Development (SEED), in the Faculty of Environment, University of Waterloo, invites applications for a three-year definite-term Lecturer appointment, with the possibility of renewal as a Continuing Lecturer, with expertise that combines finance and sustainability. The candidate must have a PhD at the time of appointment, and will be expected to teach up to six (6) courses annually, primarily at the undergraduate level.

    Applicants must demonstrate excellence in teaching, combined with deep expertise in one or more of the following areas: sustainable finance, sustainable investment, integrated reporting, environmental finance, social finance, and ESG materiality and accounting. The position is expected to support teaching and program development activities for the new Bachelor of Sustainability and Financial Management program, which is expected to commence in 2022.

    Founded in 2009, SEED is located in the biggest Faculty of Environment in Canada and has established itself as a recognized leader in integrated approaches for sustainable solutions to the world's most pressing environmental, social and development challenges. SEED offers two undergraduate programs (Environment and Business; International Development) and five graduate programs (Masters and PhD in Sustainability Management; Masters in Environment and Business; Masters in Economic Development and Innovation; and Master of Development Practice). SEED has a current enrolment of approximately 1,000 undergraduate and graduate students and is expanding its undergraduate programs to include the new Bachelor of Sustainability and Financial Management, expected in 2022.     This is a teaching position with a start date of July 1, 2021, or soon thereafter. Salary will be commensurate with experience (the range is $80,000-$105,000 per year). Applications must include a maximum 3-page statement, a CV, and the names (with contact information) of three referees. The statement should include the applicant's approach to teaching and learning and relevance of their academic and professional experience for the position. Referees will be contacted for those being considered for interviews. Closing date for receipt of applications is March 12, 2021.
