Alliance for Research on Corporate Sustainability
    13th Annual Research Conference

    June 22-24, 2021

We are excited to announce the 13th annual research conference of the Alliance for Research on Corporate Sustainability (ARCS), a consortium of universities and individuals that serves as a professional society of scholars studying the interface between business and sustainability. Our annual research conference brings together researchers from a variety of disciplinary and methodological perspectives who seek to advance the state of the field.

This year's conference will be our first virtual conference, and it will be hosted on the SCOOCS platform, a highly interactive and visually attractive format.  We will have two plenary panels featuring noted practitioners challenging conventional wisdom.  Panel 1: Corporate Sustainability 2.0: Beyond the Business Case, features Auden Schendler, VP Sustainability, Aspen Skiing and Ken Pucker, former COO, Timberland.  Both Auden and Ken have written provocative articles in Stanford Social Innovation Review questioning the value of corporate sustainability efforts.  Panel 2: ESG and Sustainable Finance, will feature Tariq Fancy, former head of Sustainable Investing for Blackrock.  Tariq has spoken out recently about the problems with the sustainable investing model.  We will also have 14 parallel sessions, short video research sketches, and daily coffee hours and meal breaks for socializing with colleagues.

The conference fee this year is reduced to $150 for faculty members and practitioners, and $50 for PhD students and post-doctoral fellows.   To register, click here.  Full details on the conference can be found on the ARCS website.
