The editors of the Journal of Product Innovation Management (JPIM) invite applications for a paper development workshop (PDW) to be held on Oct. 2^nd, 2021 at the The Robert J. Manning School of Business

University of Massachusetts Lowell. The interactive workshop will be led by the JPIM Editors-in-Chief, Charles Noble and editor board numbers. Application deadline is Sept. 1^st, 2021. Decisions will be communicated before Sept. 15^th, 2021.

 

Overall Aims

1. Provide prospective authors with an understanding of what JPIM seeks to publish (meaningful and rigorous scholarly work, focusing on consequential questions in the innovation domain). JPIM's citation impact factor raised to 6.987 in 2020.
2. Provide prospective authors with an understanding of issues that might lead to rejection (initial or later round) of a paper.
3. Encourage pre-submission interaction among JPIM editors, reviewers, and potential authors towards alignment of manuscripts with JPIM priorities.
4. Establish a forum for editors to work with prospective authors on manuscripts that are in progress (working papers).
5. Support networking between scholars in the domain of innovation management and sharing of ideas.

Application Procedure

• To allow for effective idea and paper development, the number of participing papers will be limited to maximally 12. Participation in the PDW is by application only.
• We especially encourage junior faculty / docs and authors who have not yet published in JPIM to apply, although all applications are welcome.
• We encourage authors to submit their original work under two categories: full-length papers (maximum of 10,000 words) and "idea" papers (maximum of 2,000 words). Papers previously submitted to journals that were not successful in the review process are welcome for this PDW.
• Inclusion evaluation will focus on potential benefit for the author as well as the potential of the research to make significant theoretical and meaningful contributions to the field of innovation management.
• The application should be submit to UML Qualtrics Website (https://umasslowell.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bjvkNoFpUl9WeCa). Please include the following (in one single PDF file):
  • Cover letter indicating status of the paper (completed manuscript, additional data collection planned, etc.), research question, and intended contribution.
  • Full working paper/or "idea" paper
  • Curriculum Vitae (of author planning to attend workshop)
