The goal of this workshop is to bring a diverse set of CSR and BHR scholars together to engage in an innovative and exciting Oxford-style debate.

The debate will focus on the following question: Do the CSR and BHR contradict, coopt, or complement each other? In other words, is BHR a critique of CSR, a subset of CSR, or an extension of CSR?

First, PDW participants will be asked to participate in a pre-debate vote on the statement (critique, subset, or extension). Second, the invited CSR and BHR scholars will make a six-minute opening statement about the relationship between CSR and BHR. Then, PDW participants will be asked to join one of three breakout rooms. Each breakout room will have one CSR and BHR scholar from the panel to debate their positions further. The invited CSR and BHR panelists will briefly summarize their position and then the breakout room moderator will invite the PDW participants to pose questions or provide comments on the arguments that have been made.
